Our God is able to take care of our future. All Sufficient God.

Matthew 6:34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

Song: Jehovah Jireh
Jehovah Jireh my provider,
His grace is sufficient for me X2

My God shall supply all my needs
According to His riches in glory
He will give His angels
Charge over me

Jehovah Jireh cares for me, for me, for me
Jehovah Jireh cares for me.

Prayer : Father, we give you thanks for being our help in ages past, our present help in time of need and our help in years to come. You have blessed us first with the gift of salvation, shown us so much mercy through the blood of Jesus and now you continue to provide duly strength for every task and challenge we face. Thank you for your comprehensive cover over us in Jesis Name. Amen.

In Matthew 6:11, our Lord Jesus Christ teaches us how to ask for sustainance. He said we should pray ” give us this day our daily bread”. What does this mean? Why restrict the ask to today? God knows that the heart of man can only take or retain so much. This limitation is a major distinction between man and God Almighty. He knows all things and can do all things and can cover the whole world at same time…and has the power to both settle us today as well as our future. This is the reason our God is also described as The All-sufficient God. He is sufficient to take care of our today as well as our tomorrow. May our All-Sufficient God take care of your today and tomorrow in Jesus Name.

What is the crux of today’s message? Simple, we need to work on our focus and hence what occupies our thoughts, and hence what occupies our prayers and desires. We need to focus on the “evil” of TODAY. Does this mean I don’t need a long-term goal or vision? No. Every child of God needs a vision…for an appointed time (Hab 2:2-3). What the injunction in Matthew 6:34 means is that we must break down our vision or goals into short-term objectives and action steps. These must then become daily actions and activities. Each day comes with what KJV calls “evil“. These are translated “troubles” or “challenges” in other Bible versions. It therefore means that a man that prays for God’s assistance to excel and overcome the challenges and troubles of today will be more successful than one who frets so much over the future he/she can never influence.

Luke 6:21 says “For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also”. Your true treasure is what God has given you today. It is in the grace that is new TODAY to do exploits TODAY. You must have long realized that that future issue that we often fret about most times comes and passes with a whimper. Our God is able to take care of our future. Commit the future and the vision to Him and in obediance ensure you do your daily work

(1) with all your might

(2) as unto the Lord

(3) with all diligence, leaving nothing undone that ought to be done. See Col 3:23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men.

Even as we focus on that which we must do today, May God grant us the grace to excel in it in Jesus Name.

May you, in the fullness of God’s sufficient grace execute flawlessly to the glory of God in Jesus Name. Amen.
