Oppressed Nigerian Youths

Good morning brethren. You are welcome to this morning’s edition of the Arise and Shine Programme.

Let us pray:
Father, thank you for counting us worthy to be among the living souls this morning. It is not by not by our power, neither is it by our might. It is your mercy that has preserved us. Thank you Jesus.

Sing with me:
Holy Spirit, be my Comforter,
Holy Spirit take control
As I am walking along the way
The road is so narrow
Holy Spirit see me through.

This morning, we shall be looking at the topic:

What is Oppression?
Oppression is a prolonged cruel or unjust treatment or exercise of authority.

Ecclesiastes 7:7 says, Oppression makes a wise man mad.

Who is a wise man?
He is a man that is not foolish. He has been schooled, tutored and educated.

Who is mad?
Someone who defies order and throws caution to the wind.
A mad man is definitely a foolish man because he is unruly and won’t obey simple instruction.

Proverbs 14:31 says whoever oppresses the poor is mocking his maker.

God is the Creator of everything, every man, whether poor or rich. John 1:3 is my witness.

It means any oppressor is making mockery of God or showing contempt towards God.

What did God say about oppression?

Exod.22.22 – Ye shall not afflict any widow, or fatherless child.

Because there is no one to defend them.

What will happen if a widow or a fatherless or an orphan is oppressed?

Exod.22.23 – If thou afflict them in any wise, and they cry at all unto me, I will surely hear their cry;
Exod.22.24 – And my wrath shall wax hot, and I will kill you with the sword; and your wives shall be widows, and your children fatherless.

There are different types of Oppressors. They include lack, poverty, demons and authorities ie rulers.

After the death of Joseph, a Pharaoh was enthroned who choosed to oppress the Israelites because he didn’t know Joseph.

What did the oppressed Israelites do?
They cried unto the Lord and the Lord looked down at their affliction, consequent upon which the run-away fugitive, Moses was sent to go and deliver them.

After all the appeal and pleading to the king Pharaoh by Moses had yielded no positive result, God dealt with him.
King Pharaoh lost all the Egyptians first born overnight and eventually lost majority of his soldiers that perished inside red sea overnight.

I speak as a son of Prophet this morning that every “Pharaoh” that is oppressing you, me and this nation shall perish in the “red sea” today in the name of Jesus.

Are you oppressed?
The first step is for you to cry unto the Lord. Exodus 22:23 say so.

Will God answer?
Yes, He will. Jeremiah 33:3 say so.

What will God do?
God’s anger will be kindled against your oppressor. Exodus 22:24 say so.

The only reason why God will not hear, thoughtless of answering is when you are not born again.
If you are not born again, God is not obliged to defend you or fight against your Oppressor.

Why not give your life to Jesus Christ this morning and let Him deal with your Pharaoh.

Let us pray:
Father, thank you for this short message.

Father, please accept me as your child. I surrender unto you this morning.

Father, I am being oppressed by (mention whatever is oppressing you), please hear my cry and deal with my oppressor now.

Father, arise for this nation and fight against those that are afflicting the widows, the fatherless and the orphans, who are defenceless.

Father, arise, wage war against our common oppressors, fight against them and defend your interest in this nation in Jesus name.

Father, whenever the trumpet shall sound, please count me worthy of being raptured in Jesus name.

Please brethren, refuse to be foolish, stay at home in obedience to the order of the Governor who has declared curfew and please stay safe.

Good morning once again.
