Its Our Time To Flourish. Thank You Jesus. God Says You’re Going To Be Like A Palm Tree, When The Storms Of Life Blow, You Are Going To Come Right Back Up Stronger Than Before, Amen.
Bible Test: Psalm 92: 12-15
Father, thank You for making us strong in You. We trust that You are working in our lives, even in this Pandemic and the surges all over the world, amidst various security challenges in our environment. We thank You Oh Lord because You have decided to show us mercy. Thank You for a new season of blessing and prosperity that is already here. Thank You Oh Lord because even in this season, we are fat and flourishing in Jesus’ name. Amen.
The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. Those that be planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God. They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing to show that the Lord is upright: He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him” (Psalm 92:12-15).
The promise of God is upon every righteous believer to prosper in all areas of life. This prosperity is being likened to the flourishing of the palm tree.
We are flourishing in these times, not failing. Flourish means “to increase in wealth, enter into a state of prosperity, become extremely successful and grow exuberantly.” That’s us! Praise God for all He has done and is doing in our lives. There is a popular saying that “The depth of our praise will determine the magnitude of our harvest.” Psalm 67:5-7 says, “Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee. Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us.
The basic notion of being righteous refers to a person who is sinless or morally upright
→ Those who are righteous have Christ’s nature in them and it empowers them to overcome the nature of man
→ The primary focus of those who are righteous is to worship and serve God at every opportunity, and with every resource they can get; They are totally surrendered to God.
* A righteous person does not entertain sin in his or her life.
His/her heart bleeds whenever he or she falls into sin and there is always immediate repentance and restitution.
‘Flourishing‘ here does not mean that you will never face problems or challenges in life. It refers to the peace of God that rules your heart regardless of what you experience
* The two trees mentioned in Psalm 92:12
(a) Palm Tree
(b) Cedar of Lebanon
☆ THE PALM TREE
* Palm trees are evergreen, ever showing signs of life;
→ The longer the righteous is in the way and will of God, the more the Lord will beautify his/her life
→ Proverbs 3:5-6
* The Lord uses those who are righteous to beautify the world by influencing the lives of other people for good
* If you are righteous, you will not only stand tall, but you will stand taller than all your peers
* Palm trees have a reputation of living longer than most other trees
→ God blesses those who love and serve Him with long life
* A palm tree grows straight and upwards:
→ The righteous person’s focus is heaven
* The palm tree casts the least shadow among other trees in the forest
→ Those who are righteous do not overshadow others in their quest for prosperity
→ They focus on depopulating the kingdom of Satan and building others to become what God wants them to be
→ They are not threatened when those around (or even under) them succeed and prosper
* Unlike other trees, the palm tree is soft:
→ the heart of the righteous man is tender and filled with God’s mercy & love
* The Palm tree is resilient
→ Persecutions, afflictions etc cannot hinder the growth of the righteous child of God; instead, they make him/her strong
☆ THE CEDAR OF LEBANON
* They were usually found on mountains, not on the low lands
→ Nahum 1:5
→ Righteous people are mountainous people: they are people of prayer.
→ They understand the call of the Lord to wait on Him
* Cedars are the strongest woods in the forest
→ King Solomon used the Cedars to build the pillars of the temple (See: 1st Kings 6:9)
→ Righteous people are dependable, durable, consistent, committed and have both spiritual and physical vitality
Have you ever seen a palm tree in the midst of a great storm? The tree may be bent so far over that it’s almost touching the ground, but when the wind finally stops, that palm tree bounces right back up. What’s interesting is that while that palm tree is hunched over under the pressure of the storm, it is actually becoming stronger.
The reason God said we’d flourish like a palm tree is because He knew there would be difficult times. He knew things would come against us to try to steal our joy and victory. But God said, “You’re going to be like a palm tree because when the storms of life blow, you are going to come right back up stronger than before.”
As you reflect on the events of your life, remember, the storms you have encountered have only made you stronger. You are wiser, you are more alive, and you are headed for victory. Your brightest days are right ahead of you! Always remember that with God on your side, you will flourish like a palm tree!
May God enable each of us to flourish like the palm tree—beautiful in the Lord, useful in His service, bearing good fruit to His glory, even into old age! Amen.
Father, thank You for making us strong in You. We trust that You are working in our lives, even in the midst of the storms. Thank You for a new season of blessing as we keep our hearts and minds focused on You! Amen.
In the name of Jesus, the purpose of God for our lives and families to flourish shall stand.
We and our families shall flourish and grow in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Our Work and our finances, our vision and all that pertains to us shall flourish and grow in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Psalm 71:1 – “In thee O! Lord, do I put my trust, let me never be put to confusion”
We reject confusion in any area of our lives in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Let’s thank God for the good things He has Begun to do for us. They shall be permanent in Jesus’ name. Amen.
