Divine Success. Every True And Lasting Success Is Traceable To Divine Guidance. Good Success Is A Reward For Obedience To God. When We Follow His Will And Plan For Our Lives, Things Will Be Well With Us In Jesus Name. Amen. Success Comes With Sacrifices And Delayed Gratification. Are We Ready To Pay The Price Today For A Glorious Tomorrow? Are We Faithful In What God Has Put In Our Hands, Are We Faithful In Serving Him? I Pray That As We Show Faithfulness In The Works Of Our Hands And The Service Of God, He Will Bless Us And Fulfil All His Promises Concerning Us In Jesus Name. Amen.
Bible verse: Joshua 1:8
Trust and Obey
When we walk with the Lord in the light of His Word,
What a glory He sheds on our way!
While we do His good will, He abides with us still,
And with all who will trust and obey.
Trust and obey, for there’s no other way.
To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.
Good morning brethren, we praise the Lord and give Him all the glory for His faithfulness over our lives, families, and the nation. We thank Him for His intervention in the affairs of this our nation. We will tell of His power, His awesome works as we proclaim His great deeds and His abundant goodness. Thank God for Your mighty acts now and forever! Amen.
We will be looking at Divine Success today. From the book of Joshua 1:6-9, we learnt that Good Success is a reward for obedience to God. God, all throughout the Bible and all throughout time, has rewarded His people for their obedience. When we follow His will and plan for our lives, things will be well with us in Jesus Name. Amen.
We know that if we walk in the way of God’s wisdom, the path gets brighter and brighter and there is no sunset for us.
Some men of God achieved Divine Success because of some of the characters they possessed, therefore as Christians we can achieve the same by having these characters:
1. BE STRONG
Repeatedly, in Joshua 1:6-9, God said to Joshua, that he must be STRONG, this means that this is very important in achieving good success. In Proverbs 24:5, we are told that a man of knowledge increases in strength and a wise man is strong. Therefore, to be strong we need wisdom and knowledge.
Isaiah 43:29, we are told that God gives power to the faint and to them that have no might he increased strength. Therefore, if we need strength we should go to God. When we are strong, courageous, not afraid or discouraged we will be on our way to achieving divine success. I pray the Lord will strengthen us in Jesus Name.
Whatsoever challenge we are facing right now in our lives or if we are taking up new tasks and roles we should learn from Joshua and not give in to fear. We should be strong, learn everything that is required in that area and by the grace of God we will succeed.
We should be Ready to pay the price, success comes with sacrifices and delayed gratification. Are we ready to pay the price today for a glorious tomorrow? The bible tells us in Psalm 126:5-6, “Those who sow with tears will reap with songs of joy. Those who go out weeping, carrying seed to sow, will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves with them”
We pray for discipline and perseverance, because every great season of harvest comes from a season of sacrifice.
3. BE HUMBLE
We were told that Moses was a very meek man, but God used him mightily to deliver His people. Our Lord Jesus Christ although God, never equated Himself with God. He kept on emphasizing that he came to do the will of God on earth. And God exalted Him at the end.
In the bible we are told that God resists the proud and that pride goes before a fall. But he exalts the humble. May we receive the spirit of humility in Jesus Name.
4. BE FAITHFUL
Nehemiah 9:7-8 says “You are the Lord God, who chose Abram and brought him out of Ur of the Chaldeans and named him Abraham. You found his heart faithful to you, and you made a covenant with him to give to his descendants the land of the Canaanites, ….”
God found Abraham faithful and chose Him. Apostle Paul was another great man of God that had unreserved faithfulness in serving God. He was totally committed to the ministering of the word of God even at great personal sacrifice and God used him mightily to grow His kingdom.
Are we faithful in what God has put in our hands, are we faithful in serving Him? I pray that as we show faithfulness in the works of our hands and the service of God, He will bless us and fulfil all His promises concerning us in Jesus Name. Amen.
5. BE GRATEFUL
We should have a heart of thanksgiving. Are we thankful? King David was a man that was after the heart of God, and he had a thankful heart. When we read through the Psalms, we see his songs of thanksgiving. The children of Israel annoyed God with their grumbling and lack of gratitude.
These are some of the characters we must have to achieve Divine Success.
Finally, Peter before he met Jesus toiled all night, but caught nothing. But as soon as he met with Jesus and obeyed His voice, we were told he had a net breaking experience, this is divine success. Every true and lasting success is traceable to divine guidance. We were told in Psalm 127:1, that except the Lord builds the house, they labour in vain that build it. All the great men of God that were lifted in the scriptures had an encounter with God. So, for us to have lasting success we need an encounter with our Lord Jesus Christ. For those of us that are yet to give their lives to Christ, this is an opportunity we must not miss and when we do so He himself will give us divine success in Jesus Name. Amen.
LET US PRAY.
Lord you are indeed a faithful God, thank you for all you have done for us. We humbly ask for strength from above; make us strong, give us courage, make us humble and release your spirit to help us to endure whatever challenge we may face on our path. We ask that indeed you will crown all our efforts with great success in Jesus Name.
Thank You JESUS!
