Peace. Perfect Peace. In This Dark World Of Sin.
The Blood Of Jesus Whispers
Peace Within.

Peace, Perfect Peace,
By Thronging Duties Pressed?
To Do The Will Of Jesus, This Is Rest.

Peace. Perfect Peace,
With Sorrows Surging Round?
On Jesus’ Bosom Nought
But Clam Is Found.

Peace, Perfect Peace,
With Loved Ones Far Away?
In Jesus’ Keeping We Are Safe And They.

Peace, Perfect Peace,
Our Future All Unknown?
Jesus We Know,
And He Is On The Throne.

Peace, Perfect Peace,
Death Shadowing Us And Ours?
Jesus Has Vanquished Death
And All Its Powers.

It Is Enough, Earth’s Struggles
Soon Shall Cease,
And Jesus Call Us To Heaven’s
Perfect Peace.

In The Midst Of Battle

“In righteousness shalt thou be established: thou shalt be far from oppression; for thou shalt not fear: and from terror; for it shall not come near thee.”
Isaiah 54:14 (KJV)

If there was ever a time we needed to get established in righteousness, it is now, when satanic activities are steadily increasing. Your heart must be guarded with all diligence. Your heart must be guarded based on the revelation that you have right standing with God and that God is for you and with you every time, no matter what. You must be fully persuaded, irrespective of the situation that you find yourself in, that He is not mad at you.

Let me show you how someone established in righteousness functions in the midst of battle. In Mark 4:35-41, you will notice that Jesus was in a boat with His disciples. They were going to the other side of a lake when suddenly they encountered a great storm of wind; the waves beat into the ship and began to fill it. Jesus was asleep in the hinder part of the ship. Not even the storm could wake Him, because His heart was established in righteousness. Such a person rests with the knowledge that everything will be alright.

In contrast, notice how fearful the disciples were. They believed that they were going to perish. When people expect the worst as children of God it is evidence of their not being established in righteousness. The disciples panicked. They bailed out water from the boat and tried every emergency exercise they knew before it occurred to them to go wake Jesus up. If you look at what they said to Him, you will clearly understand their state of mind. They did not wake Him up and tell Him there was a storm. They did not wake Him up and tell Him they were sinking. No, worse than that, they woke Him up and charged at Him: careth not that we perish? In other words, we are perishing and you are sleeping; don’t you care about us? It did not occur to them that Jesus too was in the boat and that whatever happened to them would also happen to Him. They were totally consumed by their fear. I imagine that Jesus woke up with a smile, looked at their confused faces, and without arguing rebuked the storm. He showed His supremacy not because He was Jesus, but because He understood what it meant to be a child of God.

I challenge you today to expect nothing other than good every moment of your life. You are the righteousness of God in Christ.

Righteousness, Peace, And Joy In The Holy Ghost

Romans_10-10: For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation

“For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.”

Romans 14:17 (KJV)

In Matthew 6:33, Jesus challenges us to seek first the Kingdom of God in order for other things to be given to us. You will notice from our text that the kingdom is not about doing the work of the ministry or going to the mission field. It is not something that flows from the outside in; instead, it flows from the inside out. Remember that Jesus said the kingdom is within us (Luke 17:21).

Paul tells in our text that the kingdom is “[. . .] righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost” (Romans 14:17, KJV).

  1. Righteousness: Not our own righteousness predicated on our works. It is a gift from Jesus, who has become our righteousness (Romans 5:17, 1Corinthians 1:30). You must be established in the fact that you are now the righteousness of God in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:21).

  2. Peace with God: Because you are justified by faith you now have peace with God (Romans 5:1). And because you have peace with God, which means that God is not mad at you, you also have the peace of God, which passes all human understanding (Philippians 4:7). Jesus gave us peace (John 14:17). With your being established in peace with God, and with the peace of God, you now know that no matter what you’re facing everything will be alright.

  3. Joy in the Holy Ghost: Joy will always be your portion whenever you focus on the finished work of Jesus Christ on your behalf. He paid the price so that you could receive the benefits. What Joy this understanding will produce in your heart! Therefore, see your righteousness in Christ every day. See that all of your sins are forgiven and you will flow in peace and joy. That is what it means to flow in the kingdom of God.
