God will Satisfy us with long Life

Scriptural Text: Psalm 91:16

Song: Adonai We Worship You

Adonai we worship You

Son of God You are so good

Almighty God Hallowed be your name

Your dominion is forever more

Good morning brethren, today January 29th, 2021; we are almost at the end of the first month of this year. Please let us spend some minutes to adore the Lord for His continued faithfulness, preservation, provision, protection and kindness towards us all. It is by His grace and mercies that we are still standing. Adore Him, worship Him, sing psalms of joy and rejoice in His magnificent presence.

Please worship him with your best songs!

I would like to encourage us this morning because of what is happening all over the world with COVID 19 pandemic. There was a story  that I read that happened during the 1854 Asiatic cholera epidemic in London. A man of God was called to attend to his parishioners who were dying and after helping with the burial of yet another parishioner he was going home, he felt despondent, in his words,

“I became weary in body and sick at heart. My friends seemed falling one by one, and I felt or fancied that I was sickening like those around me. A little more work and weeping would have laid me low among the rest; I felt that my burden was heavier than I could bear, and I was ready to sink under it.”

According to him as he was passing a shop window, he saw that the shop owner used a piece of paper to cover his window which you can see from outside. As he approached the window, he saw that what was written boldly on the piece of paper was actually a verse from the bible, Psalm 91:9 -10, which says,

“Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; there shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.”

He said that immediately his faith connected to these words and he was strengthened. His exact words were:

“I went on with my visitation of the dying in a calm and peaceful spirit; I felt no fear of evil, and I suffered no harm. The providence which moved the tradesman to place those verses in his window I gratefully acknowledge, and in the remembrance of its marvellous power I adore the Lord my God”

My brethren, this is time to acknowledge that the Almighty God is our refuge, He is our protector and a covenant keeping God.

Psalm 91:16(NIV) states that:

“With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.”

David, the writer of this Psalm 91, despite all the challenges and storms of life he passed through, it was recorded in 1 Chronicle 29:28a (NIV) that:

“He died at a good old age, having enjoyed long life, wealth and honour.”

The same was said concerning our father Abraham in Genesis 25:8a (NIV):

“Then Abraham breathed his last and died at a good old age, an old man and full of years:”

Therefore, my brethren, we should lay claim to the words of the Psalm above and be strengthened and encouraged.

Let us pray

1. Father, we thank you for your faithfulness in our lives so far this year, accept our thanksgiving.

2. Father you are our refuge, our fortress and protector, Lord cover us and our loved ones with the blood of Jesus, we will not die, we will live to declare your words in the land of the living.

3. Father have mercy upon us and let this pandemic come to an end in Jesus Name.

4. Almighty Jehovah we commit this year 2021 into your hands, show forth for us as our mighty redeemer, may this year be filled with wonderful testimonies, restoration, healing, and great abundance in Jesus Name.

5. We cancel sorrow, mourning and premature deaths in our midst in Jesus Name. Father like David and Abraham we will die at ripe old age if The Lord tarries,  in Jesus Name.

6. As many that are ill or have lost loved ones or know those that lost loved ones due to this pandemic, we pray for healing and God’s comfort in Jesus Name.

We decree and declare that because we have made the Lord, our refuge, Even the Most High, our dwelling place, No evil shall befall us, Nor shall any plague come near our dwelling in Jesus Name.

Thank You Jesus.

Jesus Loves You.
