Created in God’s image

Awesome God, how great thou art,
You are God, mighty are your miracles,
We stand in awe, of your holy name,
Lord we bow, and worship you!

Created In God’s Image

Genesis 1:27 KJV — So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

We were all created in the image and likeness of God. This is confirmed in our text for today as shown above. Psalm 82:6, described us as small gods and children of the most high. According to John 10:35; if God called us gods, then the scripture cannot be broken.
What does this mean for us? The answer can be found in Philippians 4:13 KJV — I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
That was Apostle Paul’s confession. So, why do we under-rate our abilities as believers created in the image and likeness of God?
Deuteronomy 4:31, confirms that the Lord will not forget or forsake us. All we need do is in John 15:5; abide in Him and He will abide in us, for without Him, we can do nothing!

Some Challenges In Activating The Small God In Us.

  1. Unbelief:
Matthew 13:58 KJV — And he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief. Even our Lord could not do many mighty miracles amongst His people because of their unbelief. Don’t be like doubting Thomas, remember what Jesus said to him in John 20:29; which encourages us to believe in the Lord and in our abilities as small gods, created by Him.
  2. Study The Word & Meditate On It:
2 Timothy 2:15 KJV — Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
You can share and divide the Word rightly if you study and meditate on it, always. You can only use what you have as a small god.
  3. Prayer Is It:
1 Thessalonians 5:17 KJV — Pray without ceasing.
That cliche says, a prayer[less] Christian is a powerless Christian. Prayer simply means, talking to God in His own Word. So we need prayers to activate that small god in us. When we combine prayer and fasting, the result will be extraordinary. See Matthew 17:21.
  4. Faith Is Key:
Hebrews 11:6 KJV — But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
By faith you can move mountains as small god. See Matthew 17:20.
  5. Abstain From Sin:
1 Thessalonians 5:22 KJV — Abstain from all appearance of evil.
Sin is evil. God is holy and cannot condone any unholy alliance.
2 Timothy 2:19 KJV — Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
  6. Cultivate Quiet Time With Jesus:
As a small god, you need to hear and get directions from your maker; the Almighty God. You can hear through that still small voice as in 1Kings 19:12. To achieve that, wait on the Holy Spirit for a response after your ‘quiet time’ with Him. Jesus did so as confirmed in Matthew 14:23.
  7. Imbibe Excellent Virtues:
There are some virtues we need to imbibe for us to manifest as small gods. You can find them in Philippians 4:8. You can stretch it further by complying with the fruit of the spirit as in Galatians 5:22-23.

The Lord will honor His promises concerning us in Jesus name, Amen!

Prayer Points:
a] Father, you created me in your image and likeness and as a small god for a purpose. Please Lord, let that purpose be fulfilled in my lifetime.

b] Father, I want to hear and get my bearing always from you. Please Lord, open my eyes to see the invincible and my ears to hear the inaudible.

c] Father, please keep my hope alive, keep my faith active and take away any spirit of unbelief from me.

d] Father, envelope me and my loved ones with your glory.
