We need to turn off the noise around us and concentrate on Jesus

Proverbs_3-5-1: Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding

Proverbs_3-5-: Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding

God sent His son, they called Him Jesus
He came to love, heal and forgive
He lived and died to buy my pardon
An empty grave is there to prove my savior lives

Because He lives, I can face tomorrow
Because He lives, all fear is gone
Because I know He holds the future
And life is worth the living, just because He lives

This our favorite hymn captures what we should be telling ourselves at this time “Because He lives, we can face tomorrow; Because He Lives, all fear is gone; Because I Know He holds the future”

This should be our confession as we hold on to the I AM, the eternal, unchanging, self-existent one, infinite and glorious in every way, and above and beyond all created things, Our God!

You will ask yourself, how are we to do that?

1) Believe that the LORD Knows .
Exodus 3: 7 “And the Lord said: “I have surely seen the oppression of my people who are in Egypt, and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters, for I know their sorrows

This tells us that the Lord sees the difficulty we are all passing through, He has also heard our cry to him and He knows our sorrows, so we should not be weary but be strengthened because as He sent Moses to rescue the children of Israel, He is doing the same for us today. The answers to our prayers are on the way and shall locate us in Jesus Name.

2) Turn away from your circumstances.

Matthew 29-31 “So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus.
30 But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!”
Just like Peter, we should learn that you cannot “turn your eyes upon Jesus” and at the same time watch the wind and waves. So, turn away from your circumstances. Stop fixing your eyes on your problems, your finances, your children’s issues, health problems, or the latest Coronavirus news on the Television or social media, give yourself rest from things that make you anxious, focus your thoughts on Jesus, remember the things He has done in the past and know that He will take care of any problem you may have today.

3) Know that It is not by your Power
Zachariah 4:6 “So he answered and said to me: “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’
Says the Lord of hosts.”

Turn to the LORD in prayer, it is not by your efforts or by the people you know or based on your skills, it is solely based on the Spirit of the LORD. Turn to Him totally and you will like Moses said in Exodus 14:13 find out that the Egyptians you see today, you shall see them no more forever. This shall be our testimony in Jesus Name.

4) Close your eyes and focus on Jesus
John 14: 13-14
“And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.”

Several places in the bible, Jesus assured us that whatsoever we ask in His name, He will do. Are you tired of asking? Remember in Matthew 7:7, we were told that we should ask and we shall receive, in Mark 11: 24 “Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.”

The woman with the issue of blood focused on Jesus and received her healing. We need to turn off the noise around us and concentrate on Jesus, fewer distractions equals more focus and better vision. So we should turn back and focus on Jesus and we will receive answers to our prayers.

Scriptural Verses to Help
I saw the list of some scriptures we can use anytime we feel low and anxious. I have reproduced them below to assist us.

1) Psalm 56:3
“When I am afraid, I will trust in You.”

2) Deuteronomy 31:8
“You will never leave me nor forsake me, so I won’t be afraid; I won’t be discouraged.”

3) Psalm 124:8
“My help is in the name of the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.”

4) Lamentations 3:21-23
“But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope: Your steadfast love, LORD, never ceases; Your mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.”

5) Psalm 27:14
“I wait for You, LORD; I will be strong, and let my heart take courage; I wait for You, LORD.”

6) 1 Peter 5:7
“I am casting all my anxieties on You, because You care for me.”

7) Psalm 23:4
“Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and your staff, they comfort me.”

8) John 14:27
“Let not my heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

9) Joshua 1:9
“Lord, you have commanded me: Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord my God is with me wherever I go.”

Finally every morning instead of dwelling on what the news/social media is saying, we should read a couple of psalms and chapters of the gospel, this will give us strength to get through each day. May the Lord help us all in Jesus Name, Amen!
