The Eyes Of Our Hearts

The Eyes Of Our Hearts

Ephesians 1:17–19

…that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power.

I once read that “the eyes of our hearts must be opened. When this begins to happen, what we see with the eyes of our hearts will be more real to us than what we are seeing with our physical eyes.” We can then begin to focus on “the hope of His calling…the riches of the glory of His inheritance.” This was life changing for me, as it helped me to refocus my own vision and purpose in a way that has helped me walk with greater wisdom, revelation -and come even closer to the ”surpassing greatness of His power toward us.” I have learned to live in a more consistent sense of my purpose. I trust God each day to have His way with me. When I sense myself grumbling or complaining, I try to go back to where I was before I fell. I keep short accounts with God – which can sometimes mean a more realistic view of my own humanness – but it also keeps me right with Him. We need to know our own weaknesses. It’s important if the Lord is going to trust us with the ministry He has for us.

Father, we join together as Your Word tells us, to ask that Your people would receive the spirit of wisdom and revelation! We pray that all of us will come into a deeper knowledge of who You are and what Your plans and purposes are for us.

We recognize we have much to learn and a long distance to travel, but we are secure in Your process, knowing that You will get us to the destination of Your choosing. We acknowledge that You have a plan and we are blessed to be used by You to be a blessing to others.

Holy Spirit, We need Your insight into the way You think and the way Your Word is intended to work in our lives. We cannot do this in our own strength or in our own understanding – or we shall surely fail! To see the glory of our God in even a small way, is far greater than anything we can come up with in our own innovative spirits – so help us I cry to see with Your eyes!

We also ask for Your help to avoid the pitfalls of our own human understanding – recognizing that this often leads to confusion. We acknowledge together that there is nothing of more lasting value than the “revealed word of our God.” We desire to live our lives in the “meat” of this revelation – and we acknowledge that the Holy Spirit came to help us do this.

We also ask that “with the eyes of Your understanding being enlightened”, that our hearts will be filled with hope, joy, peace and love. Help us to see with the eyes of Your heart, so it will be more real to us than what we see and understand with our own human minds and hearts.

We are grateful that You make it possible for us to walk in the “exceeding greatness of Your power”, so we can manifest the riches of Your glory! It is still almost impossible for me to grasp the depth of Your great love for us – but with all my heart I want to try.

We acknowledge You Jesus as our centerpiece. You are worthy of our full devotion. May everything we do reflect the truth of Your Word being lived out in authenticity and love toward those we meet. Help us to never lose sight of our First Love – for without You we will be in jeopardy of losing the very things for which we pray!

Thank You Jesus that You have made it possible for us to be a part of this great movement of our God now taking place. Help all who would pray this prayer to position themselves where You want them placed – so they can be a part of this great end-time march of our God. To You be all the honour and the glory! Amen!

May God Bless Nigeria, America And Israel And Take Care Of Us; May God Make His Face Shine Upon Us, And Be Gracious To Us; May The Lord Lift Up His Countenance Upon Us, And Give Us Peace, In Jesus Christ Name, We Pray! Amen!

May The Grace The Lord Jesus Christ, And The Love Of God, And The Fellowship Of The Holy Spirit Be With You All. Amen!
