What Do You See? Problems Or Opportunities? God At Work In Our Lives!

What Do You See?  Problems Or Opportunities? God At Work In Our Lives!

“And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose for them.”

(Romans 8:28).

“Save me!” Peter shouted with terror as he began to sink beneath the waves.

How did it come to this? A few moments earlier, he had literally been walking on top of the turbulent waves, defying the laws of nature. Now, he was about to be overcome by those same laws.

Jesus appeared walking across the unruly sea in the darkness of the early morning. Once the men in the boat realized it was Jesus, Peter yelled out, “Lord, if it’s really you, tell me to come to You.” Jesus replied, “Come.”

Peter went over the side of the boat and began walking toward Jesus. He literally walked on the water—until the near fatal moment when he took his eyes off Jesus, focusing instead on the turbulent wind and waves.

Like Peter trying to walk on water, when we focus on ourselves or our circumstances we cannot live the Christian life. It is truly impossible. And yet, unfortunately, that is what most believers often try to do. The key to living the Christian life has everything to do with our focus. It has nothing to do with our ability.

When we focus our eyes on ourselves or our circumstances, we really do have problems—often insurmountable. But when we focus and depend on our All Powerful, Loving, Perfectly Faithful God, all that remains are opportunities to see Him work.

The next time you think you have a problem, ask yourself this question: Where is my focus? On me? On my circumstances? Or on God? Your answer will determine whether you have a problem or an incredible opportunity to see God at work.

Philippians 4:6-7; 1 Peter 5:7; Matthew 14:25-33

Because God is faithful,

I will trust Him to turn my problems into opportunities for Him to work.
